We had the pleasure of being welcomed into the home of Lloyd, Lauren, and their feathered friend, Nugie, the cockatiel son of the family behind @flat_bahru. Their beautifully decorated flat is nestled in Tiong Bahru, a neighbourhood renowned for its nostalgic charm and vibrant, artistic community.
Lloyd and Lauren greeted us with delicious treats from their neighbourhood bakery - @microbakerykitchen. The standout? Their potato bread, perfectly balanced with just the right mix of flavour and crunch—something we highly recommend for your next visit to the neighbourhood.
As we stepped further into their flat, we were instantly drawn to the centrepiece of the space: a striking custom-made shelf that houses a fascinating collection of objects. Each piece seemed to tell its own story, and every time we glanced at it, a different trinket caught our eye. It’s refreshing to see a home that embraces maximalism, where the mantra of "less is more" is gently set aside in favour of meaningful displays.

Lauren shared that she intentionally refrains from purchasing items in Singapore, choosing instead to reserve space for keepsakes from her travels abroad. One of the most charming touches in their flat is a special nook for Nugie on their custom made shelf, complete with a bird-sized sofa and an amusing piece of art—a Melon Tit Vase—from Lauren's own creative project, @dirtydoodies.

Among the many treasures on display, one item holds particular significance for Lauren: a wind-up spaceship tin toy, discovered at Peace Centre. She finds comfort in watching it spin, bringing a sense of relief and an indescribable feeling that offers a moment of calm in her busy day.
Moving into their bedroom, the atmosphere shifts. The eclectic collection seen throughout the home gives way to a more intimate and pared-down space. Here, personal touches take centre stage—artworks created by both Lloyd and Lauren, affectionate notes, and a framed copy of their wedding vows. Their bed is dressed in our Moss and Mist duvet cover set, chosen by Lauren and Lloyd for its cooling properties and luxurious silkiness. The deep green hue adds a vibrant pop of colour, infusing the room with rich, warm tones that perfectly reflect their creative personalities.

Their home is more than just a beautifully designed space; it’s a reflection of the lives they’ve built together, filled with treasured objects that hold meaning and memory at every turn. Â
